Geest puts "Faith in Action"

The Faith In Action Youth Group, revitalized in June 2005, consists of young persons between the ages of 16 - 25 years in the Newtown Community.  Their aim is to positively impact the lives of other young persons by strengthening their faith and giving to the less fortunate. 

Recently, the Youth Group embarked on a Community Outreach Program to improve the quality of living for less fortunate persons in the area, particularly the youth, contributing to the social welfare of the less fortunate by preparing meals for them, visiting the sick, aged & shut-ins to pray with them and regularly attending and participating actively in mass.  The Group also hosts youth exchanges where they host a group of young persons at a day of sports, lunch & prayer.  Currently, Faith in Action is undertaking a project to develop a youth centre for the community. 

The Geest Line, through their Local Agents, H.H.V. Whitchurch & Co. Ltd., made aware of a need for support of this group, did so by sponsoring fifty polo shirts for the Groups' attendance at Formal Events where they promote their outreach efforts.

Mr. Jeremy Bristow, the Business Development Manager for the Geest Line, took the decision to sponsor the group citing it as a worthwhile venture and further step in the group's development.

On hand to accept the donation were Christa Francis, Michelle Belle, Ronrico Burnette and Darren Gage.  Whitchurch representatives James Rodney, Operations/Marketing Clerk, Joanne Bellot, Assistant Manager of the Shipping & Tours Department and Dorian Simon, Operations Clerk were present as well as Communications & Training Manager Kira Thompson-Aird for the handing over.  Delight was expressed on both sides and Whitchurch representatives commended the group on their efforts and actions, encouraging them to continue their hard work.
