Frequently asked questions What are the internal dimensions of a container? Please container specification document. How long do I have to load the container? 10ft Container is 2 hours, 3 hours for a 20ft container and 4 hour for 40ft container. Each additional hour or part thereof over this time is charged at £30.00. Will the container be on the ground? The container arrives on the back of a 40ft trailer about 5ft off the ground. We can get a quotation for the container to be placed on the ground and reloaded onto the trailer. Can I buy the container? Yes you can buy the container if requested at time of booking. The containers are air and water tight, the cost will be quoted and a discount offered on the ocean freight. Has the container got any securing points? Yes the container has lashing points. How can I load a vehicle into the container? It is the customers responsibility to load the vehicle into the container. Either by hiring some ramps from a garage. Another option is to drive the vehicle to Portsmouth (if a 20ft) and load the vehicle into the container prior to the haulage date. Final option (also if 40ft) is for us to load and secure the vehicle into the container prior to transport for a small fee. Can someone come round my house to advise me what size container I need? We can do this is the London area for an additional cost by viewing contents. Can you load container? Unfortunately we do not offer this service. Where can I buy a barrel, carton etc? Either from packing companies (details can be found in the yellow pages) or DIY stores. Can you collect my loose items? Yes, but you have to load the items into the vehicle yourself - the vehicles do not have tail lifts. Can I delivery my goods to any where else? Yes either our Birmingham or Preston depots or directly to our warehouse in Portsmouth.Please contact us for further details. What other services do Geest offer? When do I have to make payment? The Thursday/Friday prior to shipment. How can I make payment? We must have cleared funds prior to shipment. Payment can either be made by Visa, Mastercard and Maestro or direct into our bank account.
